Rograss is a partnership of two artists, combining their artistic, technological and scientific talents together to create these stunning images.  

 

Starting as digital photographs, these images are manipulated in a 3D environment with animation software (sorry, not Photoshop folks).  With utilization of other software, a plotter used in the aerodynamics industry, hand mixed pigment based inks and a specially “tweaked” printer, Rograss is able to provide this limited edition series of images not able to be replicated by most people.

 

Artists Statement:

 

Rograss creates stunning prints with original artwork generated in our in-house studio. This systems most distinctive feature is the inclusion of multiple levels of black enabling the system to produce unprecedented images. The unique multilevel black pigment technology significantly improves overall grey balance while enhancing shadow, mid-tone, and highlight detail. Using this expanded color pallet, Rograss ensures a wider color gamut rendering superior midtones, highlights, neutrals and shadow details.  Since the inks are pigment-based, they deliver fade-resistant works of art that stay brilliant for up to 108 years in color and over 200 years in black and white.
